ABOUT CORE COHORT ALLIANCE

CORE: Our Civil Rights Foundation

CORE Cohort Alliance is rooted in the legacy of the Congress of Racial Equality of California (CORE-CA), a historic civil rights institution committed to advancing justice, dignity, and equality.

For decades, CORE-CA has served as a trusted advocate for civil rights and cultural stewardship in California, honoring the teachings and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Among its most visible contributions was CORE-CA’s 40-year stewardship of the Kingdom Day Parade.

Rooted in Leimert Park

CORE’s civil rights and cultural leadership is deeply connected to Leimert Park, one of Los Angeles’ most significant centers of Black culture, arts, and community life.

For decades, Leimert Park has served as a gathering place for cultural expression, civic dialogue, and social justice leadership. CORE’s longstanding presence reflects not only proximity, but responsibility—grounding civil rights work in a place where history, culture, and community intersect.
